20:55 AEDT - My first run in forever + Youth myki acquisition

I decided to go on a run today. The last time I went on a run on my own accord was probably a few months ago, so it's nice to get back into it. As expected, I didn't really do that well (by my usual standards anyway). It took me an hour and a bit to run 7.3km, at an average pace of 8'57". Also, my fastest pace was only about 6'49, compared to under 5 minutes back in my heyday. I guess that's what happens when you pick up running after a couple months of doing nothing. I remember way back when I first started running, I could barely run for more than a kilometre or two. Now I can run at least 5km without having to stop and walk. That's progress for you!

As for why I decided to run today, I decided to run to my local train station to see if I could pick up one of those new-fangled Youth mykis. Burning calories while getting something productive done! The process was really easy, the customer service person didn't even ask for my ID or anything. After $5 and a few seconds, I became the proud owner of a Youth myki.

Overall, the design looks pretty nice in my opinion. It almost reminds me of the original pre-2014 mykis, back when there was a different design for each of the card types. I have no idea what train they're trying to represent though. It looks like nothing that is currently on our network, or even the X'Trapolis 2.0, set to be released in a couple of years. Additionally, the back of the card suggests that it is only necessary to tap on, and not tap off. I guess that makes sense, considering there's no real need to touch off in most cases, and touching off is only necessary to ensure that you get the cheapest fare (which doesn't apply to Youth myki, for obvious reasons).

20:05 AEDT - A few things

Quite a bit has happened since I've last written here. For one, I've been mainly relegated to my bedroom watching YouTube and things. Guess some things never change, eh? And it's been pretty hot lately; I'm writing this sweaty and shirtless. However, I did go to the city with some friends yesterday, where we looked at more of the Metro Tunnel stations, particularly Anzac, which I haven't been to yet. Overall, it was pretty alright, and I particularly liked the green aesthetic of the station. We also went to Metro Tunnel HQ, which had some pretty cool things about the tunnel and SRL, but was kinda underwhelming. The main highlight was the VR headsets showing a tour of the stations, but there wasn't really much else. I wish I could've looked at more of Town Hall today, particularly the other side of the under-construction Fed Square entrance. We also took a ride on tram route 58 to Melbourne High, and the entirety of tram route 67 (for no particular reason hehe). I wish I also had time to spot for some C2 class trams, but alas, there was not. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to do that someday soon.

23:40 AEDT - Things are improving

I managed to go over my maths exams, seeing what I got wrong and how I got those things wrong. After that I felt pretty content and took like a 10 hour break, primarily being on Discord, with a little YouTube sprinkled in. I should've tried and checked over my English exam as well, but I hate English with a passion and I could not be fucked seeing where I went wrong. Maybe I'll ask my brother tomorrow if he can help me? Also I managed to last pretty long not using devices in my bedroom, until just a few hours ago, when I really wanted to listen to some music without headphones by myself. You can probably figure out how well that went. I really need to download most of my music and put it on my DSi or something, instead of being dependent on Big Spotify. I do want to get to 2000 tracks on my Liked Songs playlist though, even though I'm only at 1,692 tracks at the moment. Wait, I just realised that I have piano lessons tomorrow, and I haven't practised at all. I am so damn cooked for everything at the moment, I swear to God.

In other words, the Australian under 16s social media ban is happening tomorrow (actually in like 20 minutes lmao), and in short, it kinda pisses me off. Just the fact that you have to upload a picture of your face and identity everywhere you go now just to use social media is really damn annoying, and is a huge surveilance and privacy risk. Let's see how long I'll last before I'll have to succumb sending my identity to random private companies who have no business nor proper experience handling pictures and identities of innocent people.

18:20 AEDT - Holy addictions

As of now, I haven't done shit. Mainly due to my insistence on watching YouTube and checking on Discord. These activities are more pleasurable than checking my exams, and satisfy the FOMO in the brain. Primarily when it comes to watching videos from certain channels or seeing what people on servers are up to. I'm just so used to this, to the point where I can't do anything else at home. And that's what we call bad habits!!!! These habits are the main reason I can't do shit at home. And they've led me from straight of my shower, on to my bed, and immediately using my computer for some damn purpose. Right now I'm thinking of going onto Discord and falling down that rabbithole as soon as I finish writing this blog post. I shan't let the intrusive thoughts win... Maybe I should try dopamine detoxing in this room? Hopefully it'll work after 4 years.

11:14 AEDT - I don't know

It has been a while since I've made a blog post here (almost a couple of weeks smh) due to my imminent laziness. School holidays have started and I have no idea what to do. I've already wasted 1/8th of them being sick and stuff. But since I'm better now, I should actually be dedicating this period to stuff that'll help me and attempt to make me productive. First things first, I should probs list out all the homework I need to do these holidays, and get those things over and done with. Everything else is for future me to deal with. But there's also looking back at my previous exams, which I still haven't done yet. Maybe I'll try and do that soon enough.

21:40 AEDT - A last-minute rush

What a way to start off my second day. Putting things off until the last minute, smh. Hopefully I'll get better at this down the line. Especially when I didn't have exams today and instead went to the dentist, where two elderly people put metal things in your mouth for a living. They told me to floss and stuff but to be honest, I cannot be fucked. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow when I'm not as in a rush (foreshadowing). I guess I can make a reason for why I put off this blog until the last minute. It's because I put off practising for my Theatre Studies exam (which is tomorrow by the way) until the last minute. Yep, I truly am pretty good at procrastination! And since I put off practising for my Theatre Studies exam, I also put off practising for my Physics and General Maths exams, and thus, I have less time for them now!!!!! Yep, I am really cooked for all my exams. Hopefully this doesn't happen next year. Planning for big productivity increases between now and then. It's all about being better than you were before. Anyways, I should probably go to bed now, so good night.

17:29 AEDT - I'm starting a blog

Guess I decided to put this website to good use and make a blog here. For now it's just gonna be my personal thoughts, including whatever comes to me at this very moment.
